The Manteo Library Book Club meets on the Second Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November.

When will I receive my book? Will the book be checked out to me?

Book Club members will check out a specially labeled paperback copy of the book club pick at their meeting. Books are due back at the next meeting when they will be discussed.

Book Club members who want to read ahead are welcome to check the book out early from the library.

Do I have to pay to attend?

No, the Dare County Library Book Clubs are free to attend.

Can I attend virtually?

For the time being, Dare County Library Book Clubs will be offered in-person only.

Does Hatteras Library have a Book Club?

The Hatteras Library does not currently have a Book Club; but we are hopeful to start one there in the future.

Will refreshments be served?

Coffee, tea, and water will be available, but we're going to keep our attention on the 'meat' of the book.

Is there a limit on the number of attendees?

Thanks to the Dare County Library Foundation, we are able to purchase 12 copies of each book club pick to share with attendees. We will also make it a point of reserving any copies of the titles that are in the East Albemarle Regional Library Sysem for our members to read. However, we may have to limit the number of attendees based on the number of copies we can provide; we do not want to ask our members to purchase books as it is not in the spirit of a free library program.
